The 2017 CrossRip project was a design study focused on clarifying and strengthening market position through a rider-centered lens. Originally positioned as a “do-it-all” road bike, the goal was to more clearly define CrossRip as a long-distance commuter during the week and a versatile sport bike on the weekend. The resulting design brief was simple: create the best workday commuter / weekend rip bike on the market.
We did a three day deep dive to define the CrossRip experience where we discovered how the rider needed to be able to set up their bike for the weekend or work day scenarios.  We came up with a concept for hard packs, which Erik Eagleman jumped at prototyping and testing.
