Before I started as lead on the Trek MTB design team I worked on a number of Bontrager component projects. As design manager I continued to work on a few projects here and there, while leading other designers on the team to design award-winning cycling products.
A difficult and complicated project that never saw the light of day - an ultralight full-carbon crank that was ahead of its time.
This was two-day project. Had I known it was going on thousands of bikes for many years - I would have put more time into it. Sometimes its the quick hit projects that have lasting impact.
